What you will get

While implementing data and AI solutions over three decades, not as an external consultant but as an internal expert and data leader, I have seen what worked and what didn’t. I have seen mistakes that were caught too late before millions of dollars of investments were made. And, I have learned from the mistakes and enabled successful AI solutions across many business functions.

You will benefit from that experience. You will also benefit from my network of trusted partners for implementation, if needed. Whether it’s Large Language Models, data management, AI architecture, or data storytelling, you will have access to the right partner to implement what is needed.

But be prepared, I may advise you against using AI. If your business challenges can be better addressed through other means such as dashboards or process improvements, I may suggest other solutions.

7 AI sins

70% of AI projects fail. It’s not because of technology or lack of data. They fail because of people. They fail because of the actions and mindset of executives, users, and developers. I call it the human factor of AI. As confirmed again and again, this is the main reason for AI failures.

Each of these three roles influences different areas relevant for success with AI. Over the years, I have identified seven sins, we can also call them “challenges”, that come up, sometimes intentionally but most often unintentionally. Evaluating these seven AI challenges and the human factor is key to understanding how ready your organization is for AI.

Sparring for executives & business leaders

During 100 days, you ask me about AI and what it can do for your company. I ask you about your business needs. I share from my experience what has worked at other companies to be successful with AI and what didn’t. We discuss ideas for your company.

This package includes:

• Free 1-hour session to get to know each other (no commitment at this point)

• 12 weekly 1-hour sessions

• Virtual or in-person

8-week AI assessment

Evaluation of AI readiness

This is not your typical technology assessment that you can get from any consulting company. The AI assessment you get here is focusing on people: executives, users, and developers. How do executives make decisions about implementing AI? How do business users decide whether to use AI and what prevents them from doing so? Who do developers include when building AI solutions?

During 8 weeks, I evaluate how ready your organization is to implement and scale AI solutions. I meet virtually or in-person with several members of your organization. I ask questions to learn about the human factor. I also evaluate the organizational alignment on AI since you don’t want your key stakeholders going into different directions. At the end, I provide an assessment and recommendations across four areas:

1️⃣ Executives & business leaders: Understanding what AI can and cannot do for the organization
2️⃣ Business users: AI & data mindset, including awareness, skillset, and willingness
3️⃣ Developers & technical teams: Technical and communication capabilities to develop and implement AI solutions
4️⃣ Organization: Alignment across key decision makers (e.g., data privacy, workers’ council) about the value of AI for the organization

This package includes:

• 6 hours of conversations per week with members of your organization

• Spread over 8 weeks to account for availabilities

• Assessment and recommendations across four areas (executives, business users, developers, organization)

Deep dive workshop

Brainstorming session on one key area of AI readiness

During a 4-hour workshop, I deep dive with your key stakeholders into one of the four areas: executives, business users, developers, or organization. You select the area of the deep dive (ideally this would start with the most challenging one). Together, we set the long-term goal for that area, describe the current situation and roadblocks, and define what needs to be done to close the gap and reach the goal.

This package includes:

• 4-hour workshop with relevant stakeholders, ideally in person

• Recommendation of action items to close the gap between the current state and the desired outcome
